Why Wales?

There is a huge market already, and considerable awareness of what the Welsh coast has to offer:

• There were 9.6 million overnight trips to Wales by British residents in 2012. They spent £1,588 million.
• Visits to the coast account for 41% of all overnight trips in Wales (nearly 4 million visits). In North Wales, the figure is as high as 57%. In England the figure is just 20%, and 13% in Scotland.
• The Welsh Coast path drew nearly 3 million visitors to the coast in its first year alone, a figure that’s only expected to rise.

According to Visit Wales’ Coastal Strategy, “Demographic and income changes are likely to stimulate growth in higher value activities which are attractive to older age groups including yachting, motor boat cruising and golf.”

Demand for a better life is such that an all-encompassing coastal lifestyle event in Wales is long overdue. Enter the All Wales Boat Show.
